Band Bio:

Skin On Flesh are a rock band created by Michiel Sybers and Laura Jiménez. During the pandemic in 2020 we started writing music together in Berlin after other projects were on hiatus, expressing our personal stories filled with trauma and frustrations, composed by loud guitars and intense vocals in English and Spanish.

”El Tiempo” got selected as one of the 14 winners of CD Project Red’s 89.7 Growl FM contest and is featured in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, on the 89.7 Growl FM radio station.

In 2021, their debut single “You’ll See Me” was featured in the Listen To Berlin 2021 compilation album. Since then Skin On Flesh released a 2 track EP, featured in a “Life is Strange” short film; released two more singles and a music video throughout the year. On April 28, 2023, Skin On Flesh released their first short EP “Terrible and Sad”. Two songs of “Terrible and Sad” are featured in the interactive short film: Hope Circle (2023) by The Wonder twins.

Personal Statement

This project is like my baby, I’ve brought it up together with Michiel Sybers and it has been growing ever since we sat down in our room writing demos during the pandemic period. It’s crazy the international recognition we’re starting to get just with one song. Writing music along Michiel has been one of the most enriching experiences, he surprises me every time he lays down the foundation of a song, because it already ignited and idea inside of me that makes me write down lyrics like a machine.

For me it is importan that through this project I not only explore that sad and angsty side of mine, but it also rescued me in a sense when I felt so lost and alone. Singing in my native language for a bigger audience has been a dream of mine ever since I can remember. I will always be grateful for every step of the way that this project might take us.
